Lead Pastor: Alan and Maggie Parsons
Pastor Alan was born and raised in Elkin, NC. Originally a Theatre major with a minor in Musical Theatre from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Alan left college to work at Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster County, PA, which is the largest Christian theater in the USA. It was during this time that he recognized and accepted the calling God had placed on his life in the ministry. Alan holds a Bachelors Degree in Ministry Leadership with a Emphasis on Preaching from Moody Bible Institute, and a certificate in Apologetics from Biola University. If you asked Alan why he was lead to begin Abstract Church, the answer would be simple. “Abstract Church exists to see people made whole in the love that is Jesus Christ.” It is with this sole purpose in his heart that Alan preaches the gospel and helps share the love of our amazing GOD. Alan is thrilled and excited to see how God is working through the lives of the people in this church and in our community. With much anticipation, Alan invites you to come and participate in a different worship experience at Abstract Church!

Blogger: Carrie Prevette
Carrie Prevette is the sole author of the official Abstract blog. Daughter of Charles and Nancy Prevette and the youngest of three, Carrie attended Western Carolina University for four years and graduated magna cum laude in May of 2014 with a degree in English. In her free time, Carrie enjoys sleeping, obsessing over music and musicians, spending time with her loved ones, and being entertained. She loves Iron Man, caramel, and festive socks. If she was stranded on a desert island and could take any five books with her, she would take To Kill a Mockingbird, The Outsiders, Brave New World, Eleanor & Park, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Her favorite quote is, “Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia,” statements from the one and only Charles Schulz. Carrie currently lives in her native land of Jonesville, North Carolina, where she works as a bank teller and is trying to write a story good enough to earn her a publishing contract.
